I encountered this sponsored ad on Instagram. It is by Sharper Looks displaying a free watch when you cover the shipping. Of course, a free watch will lack in quality and this deal is not enticing, therefore, very ineffective. I believe I saw this advertisement because of behavioral targeting. Prior to seeing this ad I was on the web using Google as my search engine looking for a specific watch and now I have this company putting deals on my page. It is tactics like this that are very effective for companies to use. If they took it a step further and provided a watch more relevant to my search, I may have bought it from them instead of the competitor.
